FAQ

Common questions

Which calculator tells me how much margin a gold position will tie up?

The margin calculator. It takes your lot size, the XAU/USD price and the leverage cap that applies to the entity serving Kenya, and returns the margin blocked. For reference, at that cap a 0.10-lot position needs about $85.50. Treat the output as the minimum you must set aside, not as a suggestion to use maximum leverage.

How do I work out what one pip is worth on my gold lot size?

Use the pip value calculator. For XAU/USD one pip is 0.01, and one standard lot is 100 oz, so the pip value scales directly with your lot size. Enter your size and the tool returns the dollar value per pip, which you then compare with the KSh amount after conversion.

Which tool should I use to plan entry, stop and target in dollars?

The profit calculator. You enter entry, exit and lot size, and it returns the dollar result before conversion to KSh. Pair it with the position size calculator, which works backwards from the risk you are willing to take and your stop distance, so the two numbers agree before you commit.

Do I need the pivot point calculator if I already use indicators?

The pivot point calculator is for traders who want reference levels for the session rather than signals. It derives support and resistance from the prior period's high, low and close. Whether those levels matter to your plan depends on your timeframe and how you trade; it is a reference tool, not a prediction.

Are the calculator results guaranteed to match my broker's figures?

No. Results depend on the price you enter, your lot size and the leverage cap applying to the entity serving Kenya, and a live broker quote can differ from the reference price of about 4275.0. Use the outputs as planning estimates and check the actual margin and pip value in your own platform before trading.
